Olesya was written as a birthday present for a lovely Ukrainian friend who is a super salsa dancer. The song initially started off only with latin percussions and I enjoyed the rhythm so much that i had to add melodic and bass parts. Soon enough the song excited me so much it was time to make a band. Next thing i knew the song had brilliant horn parts played by Japanese Trombonist Eriko Murakami and Cuban Trumpeter Eddy Fleitas del Sol. Working with Eddy and Eriko has been a massive privilege for making beautiful music and friendship. Eriko's trombone solo towards the end of this song is a super highlight in this album.
