Somo means "together we stand." Inspired by my Turkish friend Seda, this song pays tribute to the brave protestors of Gezi Park, Istanbul that stood united against police brutality. I've always loved African music so I chose an African marimba called Gyil to be the base for this song. My respect and love goes out to all the brothers and sisters out there fighting oppression against human rights. The special trombone lines are courtesy of Eriko Murakami.
